I grew up in Gladstone, Oregon in a civically engaged family. Dinner conversations with friends and extended family typically included vibrant discussions of the major issues of the day and always came from a place of deep affection and appreciation for Oregon, our country, and its people, which I carry forward personally and professionally today.

After graduating from Portland State University and wanting to pursue a career in public service, I attended law school at Gonzaga University to build a flexible skill set while I determined which public service pathway to pursue. Like many lobbyists, I fell into this work by chance. I graduated from law school in 2010 at the height of the Great Recession and after passing the bar exam, I was introduced to former State Senator Mark Hass and ultimately hired to support his policy work in the 2011 legislative session.

I took a job with the City of Portland shortly after the 2011 legislative session where I served as a Senior Associate Lobbyist for five years before joining the City of Hillsboro in 2016 as its first Government Relations Manager. During my fourteen years in public service, I engaged in a variety of policy areas, including education, higher education, land use, housing, economic development, transportation, infrastructure, public safety, and general government issues.

I live in Washington County with my wife and two daughters. I enjoy traveling with my family, staying physically active, playing golf, reading, and being present for my daughters as they grow, and their world expands.
